With the requirement for ultra-large diameter broaching fast increasing, HMT has launched the 'CarbideMax-XL' range of Tungsten Carbide Tipped cutters from 61mm right up to 150mm diameter with 55mm cutting depth as standard. These high-quality TCT cutters have a reinforced 32mm diameter shank to withstand the high levels of torque generated.
Tungsten Carbide, one of the hardest materials used for cutting tools, can drill through the toughest steels. HMT CarbideMax TCT Broach cutters are tipped with individually brazed cutting teeth of the highest quality tungsten carbide. They are designed with an elaborate cutting geometry, resulting in faster, quieter, more effortless drilling and chatter-free performance. Furthermore, because the teeth of the cutter are doing all of the hard work, less strain is put on the wall of the cutter. Therefore, the thinner wall means less metal is removed, giving a faster cut.
