3M Speedglas have been conducting extensive research into designing a welding helmet that is constructed to be reliable and extremely adaptable to a welder’s needs and situation. The result of their research is the G5-01 Welding Helmet. Built for heavy-duty, high-amperage welding and grinding, the G5-01 Welding Helmet connects to the 3M Adflo Powered Air Respirator to deliver TH3-rated protection. This package comes without the welding filters designed for this helmet.
The G5-01 clear protective visor dimensions are 104 x 170mm, offering a massive range of viewing ability, plus its curves provide excellent views up, down and superficially. The model’s slim profile and ergonomic design make the G5-01 more lightweight and easier to squeeze into the tightest spaces whilst also retaining its comfort. Mould the helmet to suit your individual needs with 3M branded additional accessories such as different types of protection covers.
Built for heavy-duty, high-amperage welding and grinding, this innovative series of welding helmets are constructed to offer welders more control over their airflow direction. The design of the helmet allows the airflow to be directed to your face, your visor or a combination of both, whatever the welder prefers. All adjustments made to the airflow are possible whilst wearing the helmet. The helmet’s flip-up function allows an effortless switch between welding and grinding applications whilst also staying protected due to the powered air respiratory system.
The Turbo unit draws air through a spark arrester, pre-filter and particle filter (and gas filter when used) to reduce respiratory hazards. It then feeds the air, via the breathing tube, into the welding shield. The constant flow of filtered air and the comfortable face seal keep contaminated air outside the shield.
The new Adflo unit features Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries, which are more than 40% lighter than the NiMH batteries used in the original model. The lighter battery has the same lifetime as its predecessor and benefits from a faster partial charge time.
