Women In Welding

To coincide with International Women’s Day earlier this year, Lincoln Electric UK embarked on another Women in Welding campaign and announced four exciting additions to their team of ambassadors, chosen not only because of their dedication to hard work and ‘boundary breaking’ attitudes, but because they aren’t afraid to be unique.

Established in the early 1940s, the Women in Welding campaign is aimed at attracting more female interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). The concept celebrates women’s achievements and raises awareness against bias within the industry.

Together, the ambassadors and Lincoln Electric UK aim to inspire the next generation of budding female welders.

Chelsea enrolled in a 12-month NVQ course in fabrication and welding and completed it in 5 months.

Urged to join the industry by a friend, Chelsea now wants to help more women into the field.

Entering the industry through an apprenticeship, Mollie enjoys the independence and confidence it inspires.

For Mikala, the best part of the job is seeing her work on buildings and knowing that she played a key part in the construction!
