The Lincoln Arc Roadshow

Check out the below video to get a feel of the day!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Lincoln Electric Arc Roadshow at Rapid’s Hedge End site on 21st June.

It was a great afternoon, well attended, although possibly a little on the warm side for an action-packed day of live demonstrations, presentations and have-a-go stations!

Some of the latest Lincoln Electric equipment was demonstrated. This included a virtual welding teaching systemco-bot collaborative robot for hybrid automation of manipulation and welding processesCNC plasma cutting systems, and a high deposition twin wire manual MIG system.

Unsurprisingly there is much to follow up on, and it was exciting to see a lot of interest in the products on show, especially Lincoln’s Power Wave 300C and the VRTEX Virtual Reality training system.

As we know from previous customers feedback, the VRTEX training system brings a huge amount of value to educational settings, allowing learners to practice welding techniques in a safe virtual environment that brings the tools, settings, materials, visuals and sounds of the welding process to life.

Like most computer-based VR systems, the standard has come on in leaps and bounds as technology has advanced.

The immersive experience was impressive, coupled with the accelerated learning which was aided by real-time corrective cues fed back to the user while simulating the weld.

Advantages of VR learning:

 Greatly reduced costs.
Enhanced safety from traditional ‘live welding’ training techniques.
Sustainability – students can practice real-world cutting applications before moving on to using materials.

Also popular was the Power Wave® complete welding process control system.

Ready to tackle anything from technical training to industrial fabrication, the all-new 300 Amp, do-everything Power Wave® is packed with performance and leading-edge technology, allowing for standardisation of the entire welding operation and optimised performance and waste.

All-in-all, the roadshow was a fantastic opportunity to experience some interesting new products and innovative welding solutions first hand, and we’d very much like to thank everyone who spared time from their busy work schedules to attend.

Also big thanks to Steve and his ‘Lincoln crew’ for providing the demonstrations.
