Job description
Experienced BUYER required for our busy company.
Based in our Portchester head office, the focus will be
· To continually review our suppliers and stock, ensuring our stock levels are correct whilst the brands stocked and pricing are market competitive.
· Full purchasing process: from continual review of pricing & daily contact with suppliers while reviewing backorders ensuring goods arrive on time.
· Listening to feedback from our both our internal and sales engineers to understand our customer requirements.
· Being confident when working and meeting with suppliers.
As part of a small team there is a general level of additional support required for your colleagues.
Hours
· Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.30pm, one hour lunch, 42.5 hours per week.
· 20 days holiday per year + statutory holidays. Compulsory Christmas & New Year shutdown.
What we're looking for
· Experience in buying engineering and/or welding products
· Proven history of negotiating skills
· Understanding of general sales/purchasing procedures
· IT literate including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
· Calm under pressure
· Excellent communicator across all colleague levels.
· Ideally have an engineering/ welding background.
· The role will be fast-paced and challenging therefore you must have an adaptable and flexible attitude and approach, be prepared to work alongside your team and be driven to achieve a high level of service.
