Introducing the NEW Hypertherm Powermax30 XP
‘Rugged and Reliable’ – We like the sound of that!
This is the claim made by Hypertherm about the new Powermax30 XP, set to be formally introduced on February 3rd, 2014. With that date just over a week away, Hypertherm has taken pity on us and released some information about this highly anticipated high-performance plasma-cutting system.
Here’s a brief overview to tantalise your tastebuds!
Easy to use, and with 50% more cutting power than the original Powermax30 system, the new design makes for a versatile tool with a cutting ability of up to 16mm.
The ‘rugged’, I’m guessing, comes from the new Duramax LT (light) torch, which has been designed to survive impact and heat damage, while according to Hypertherm, the Powermax30 XP has twice the consumable life of its predecessor and is ‘70% more efficient on average for lower cutting costs’, which makes it very ‘reliable’ sounding indeed.
But, as with all new innovations, it can’t simply be a case of out with the old and in with the new. In their press release, Hypertherm confirmed they will continue producing consumables, replacement torches and other parts for the Powermax30 in the future, and any new orders for the old system will still be accepted on a ‘while stocks last’ basis.
Rapid customers will be delighted to know that as of the 10th February, 2014, orders for this new system will be available for delivery.
