Standing at 30 metres (100 feet)\u00a0and weighing in at 300 tonnes each, these beauties are Scotland&#8217;s newest visitor attraction and were\u00a0opened to the public\u00a0in April this year\u00a0as part of a multi-million-pound land redevelopment between Falkirk and Grangemouth. Built of structural\u00a0steel with stainless steel cladding, the sculptures took a whopping eight years of planning and one year to manufacture and assemble.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-advancedheading.kt-adv-heading652_f24f87-5a, .wp-block-kadence-advancedheading.kt-adv-heading652_f24f87-5a[data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading652_f24f87-5a\"]{text-align:center;font-style:normal;}.wp-block-kadence-advancedheading.kt-adv-heading652_f24f87-5a mark.kt-highlight, .wp-block-kadence-advancedheading.kt-adv-heading652_f24f87-5a[data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading652_f24f87-5a\"] mark.kt-highlight{font-style:normal;color:#f76a0c;padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px;}<\/style>\n<p class=\"kt-adv-heading652_f24f87-5a wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading652_f24f87-5a\">As well as The Kelpies, there are two sets of 1:10 scale models known as Kelpie\u00a0maquettes, which were\u00a0sculpted from steel and\u00a0then galvanised using a hot dip process.
